We are proud to support this project lead by our Fashion Department Director Monika Lacekova and Atelier71. This awards program recognizes emerging artists in fashion design and grants them with educational and promotional opportunities on their artistic journey.

This travelling charitable exhibit supports victims of the armed conflict in Ukraine. The art pieces have travelled from from M.O.D Gallery in Kansas City, MO through the Upstairs Smoking Section Gallery as well as The Dive in Philadelphia, PA. They continue on their path through Five Points Annex Gallery in Connecticut. The next stop is Angel Orensanz Foundation in NYC where the artworks become an integral part of the Slovak Fashion Night project during New York Fashion Week.

PROGRAM

Our Slovak Studies Program is based on learning the Slovak language and culture through the use of simple sentence structures, everyday vocabulary, dialogue, and short stories whose plot-lines may have an unexpected twist. By using this approach, an understanding of the Slovak culture, language, and mindset can be achieved. The goal is to prepare learners not only for comprehension of the language but gain an awareness and more in depth understanding of the overall culture and psychology of the Slovak people.
